The United Nations declared Babakan Siliwangi a world urban forest. Yet the Bandung city government has given permission to the private sector to build a restaurant there.

THE sun beat down on the lands of Parahyangan causing sweat to flow and eyes to squint. But, Tuesday afternoon last week, hundreds of kindergarten students gathered at the Babakan Siliwangi forest were not overheated.
