Kellogg Commits to Deforestation-Free Palm Oil by 2016

After a year-long campaign by two Girl Scouts to rid their organization's signature cookies of palm oil, Kellogg Company announced on February 14 a concrete commitment to move toward deforestation-free palm oil.

The US-based food manufacturer, which makes Girl Scout cookies, pledged that by the end of 2015 all its suppliers must at least be working toward being able to "trace [their] palm oil to plantations that are independently verified as legal
