Haze Disrupts Riau Oil Production

Chevron and other companies shut down hundreds of oil wells in Riau last week as toxic haze from forest fires continued to blanket the province.
Total losses topped 12,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), with 8,800 bpd coming from the Rokan block, run by Chevron Pacific Indonesia, the energy giant's local subsidiary. Rokan is Indonesia's most productive block, and Chevron is the country's biggest oil producer.
