Australian mining companies hold coal concessions in the Heart of Borneo conservation area, and they plan to use them. Brisbane-based Cokal has secured funding to go ahead with its Bumi Barito Mineral project in Central Kalimantan, the Sydney Morning Herald reported last week.Cokal holds permits covering 62,000 hectares of land in Central Kalimantan.
