INDONESIA's red-and-white flag hangs on the wall where Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya and the 40-strong Indonesian delegation will negotiate during the 21st Conference of Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Paris from November 30 to December 11.

Ahead of the December 1 discussions, Minister Siti gave her team clear instructions. "Always link the issues here to the government's program and to protecting the earth's capacity to support a better quality of life by keeping global warming below two degrees Celsius," she told them in Paris last Tuesday.
