Ganda Saputra, a forest ranger, had never felt uncomfortable while fishing in the waters of Ujung Kulon, Banten. But he could not shake off the image of a striped creature with a thunderous roar he had seen just before arriving on the beach. It made him decide to reel in the fishing line he had cast only 10 minutes before. The 31-year-old ranger rushed back to the tent near the Cidaon grazing field to join his three fellow forest rangers.
