Costly Komodo Conservation

The government has announced that it will be charging Rp3.75 million for visitors to enter the Komodo National Park in East Nusa Tenggara. It gives Komodo conservation as a reason for the price hike.

ACCORDING to Evodius Gonsamer’s notes, at least 100 tourists have canceled their plans to visit the Komodo National Park in August. The head of the Indonesian Travel Agent Association’s (Asita) branch at West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, said the wave of cancellations are already starting.
