AN important agreement to assist the world’s poorest and most vulnerable countries bearing the impact of climate change was reached on the first day of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai on Thursday, November 30. The agreement was greeted with enthusiastic applause from the delegates. The host country, the United Arab Emirates, and Germany pledged US$100 million.
