AT low tide, mudskippers like to play in the mangrove area around 400 meters west of the Kali Adem Port in Muara Angke, North Jakarta. These amphibian fish skip here and there and even climb mangrove roots. “Mudskippers once disappeared from here,” said Rahmat Zainal, Secretary of Muara Angke Mangrove Community (KOMMA), while showing his group’s protected mangrove area on Wednesday afternoon, February 14.
