The water in the pond is brown and turbid. Whenever the thin crocodile that is submerged in the pond moves, however slightly, the mud sediment rises. A few moments later, there is no way of distinguishing which is the crocodile and which is the mud. Passersby are struck by a sickeningly bad smell emanating from the enclosure.
