THE roaring sound of hundreds of motorboats broke the silence of the morning. Amid this din and the smell of diesel oil hoarse shouting was heard over the sound of the engines. "Forward!" the voice was heard, shaking. Slowly the boats set sail, dragging with them hundreds of floating fishing nets that moved away inch by inch.
TEMPO saw this "exodus" last week in the Cipariuk Block, Jatiluhur Dam, Purwakarta, West Java.
