As many as 41 works of art from 18 Indonesian contemporary artists will be on display first in Jakarta and then at the Saatchi Gallery, one of London’s foremost art galleries. It is a golden opportunity for Indonesian art to enter the international arena.

THAT day the Ciputra Artpreneur Centre in Jakarta was filled with artists, curators and collectors. Among the artists were Handiwirman Saputra, Edo Pillu and Haris Purnomo. They were gathered at the edge of the pool close to the entrance of the exhibition, chatting about their works or their plans for future exhibitions.
