Bird flu comes by surprise in early 2007. Four persons in Jakarta and Tangerang died in less than a week. This situation brings to a total of 79 bird-flu patients in Indonesia since 2005, and 61 of them had passed away. So this country ranks highest in the incidence of avian flu in the world.

Suitable Breeding Places
It is natural that bird flu is never gone from this country. All the necessary conditions ideal for the virus exist here. Humid environment, residential areas devoid of good sanitation and ventilation, and fowl cages close to houses are conditions in which virus prosper.
