An Indonesian researcher discovers a prototype bird flu DNA vaccine, which is more sophisticated than conventional ones. It is the first DNA vaccine discovered in Indonesia although it still requires further research.

DO not forget bird flu. Although it no longer makes headline news, new cases still appear in various regions. The latest was in Karawang, West Java. A 26-year-old man died early last month after suffering from bird flu symptoms two weeks before. There was also a report that two people in Garut contracted the flu which first attacked fowls. They were treated in an isolation room but both survived.
