ON the afternoon of September 2, 2004, Pram was beaming. His wrinkled face did not hide his pleasure at the events of the day. In his old house in Utan Kayu, East Jakarta, Pram had just signed a contract with PT Elang Perkasa. This company plans to make a film out of his novel This Earth of Mankind. I am proud of the fact that there are Indonesians who are willing to make a film from my novel, he said.
