LEDJIE Taqs face hardened. The tone of the Dayak mans voice went up a decibel as he described his tribesmen, the people of Wehea, who were not acknowledged among more than 800 Dayak tribes scattered around Kalimantan.

More often than not, the Dayaks in East Kalimantan tend to classify the Weheas in the same group as the Modang or Bahau tribes. Understandably, the tribe with 2,000 members, may be undergoing an identity crisis.
