AFTER the Indonesian development of a microsatellite, a pioneer effort in the independent manufacture and operation of “real” satellites, perhaps this is the county’s next promising invention: the Indonesian Tsunami Buoy. This latest invention is tied to a vested public interest, namely preventing or reducing the impact of tsunami disasters, like what happened in Aceh in December 2006, or more recently in the Solomon Islands.
