Deforestation in Indonesia has become a world concern. Many programs have been launched and funds allocated to stop further deforestation in the country. Last week the Australian government announced a commitment to provide A$10 million in aid to fight illegal logging, reduce greenhouse gas emission and promote sustainable forest development in Indonesia.

The commitment was announced by Foreign Minister Alexander Downer at the Forest and Climate
