A New Detector from the NOAA

THE DART II is the latest generation of tsunami detectors produced by NOAA. The first generation monitored the ocean floor in the Pacific Ocean up until the late 1990s. In order to communicate its data, the DART I established a link with a high-powered satellite in a geostationary orbit. Unfortunately, the satellite’s coverage was still only one-third of the earth’s surface.
