THE peak of Mt Merapi in Yogyakarta province sent out hot gases on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. According to Yogyakarta Center for Investigation and Development of Volcanic Technology (BPPTK), the hot gases, which traveled about 2 kilometers in the direction of the upstream area of Gendol River, Sleman regency, were the result of continuous fallout of lava.
