LAST August 15 marked the 100th anniversary of Prof. Roosseno, a man whose name is identified with the development of civil engineering in Indonesia. Roosseno, who died on June 15, 1996 in Jakarta, belonged to the first generation of post-independence Indonesian civil engineers at a time when President Sukarno initiated prestigious projects which later became icons in many parts of the country.
