Mbah Jenggot (the Bearded Old Man), now in advanced age, is an example of a Kedungombo resident who has spent dozens of years unflinchingly demanding his rights.

People call him Mbah Jenggot, a term of address compatible with his white beard that has grown some 14cm down his chin and on parts of his cheeks. The 75-year-old is better known by this name than his real name, Sopawiro Parman. A resident of Kedungpring Village, he is also intimately called Pak (Mr) Kanjeng. Carrying his hatchet with him wherever he goes, Mbah Jenggot is undeterred by his advanced age in dealing with Kedungombo affairs.
