THE literary arts were merely a compliment to the Jakarta-Berlin Art Festival. This point was stressed repeatedly by the festival organizers. But, in looking over the listing of events, it would be difficult to say the literary programs were only a kind of accompaniment. Zwischen den Welten, Antara Dua Dunia/ Between Two Worlds was the special name given to the literary events in the festival. Almost every day there were two literary events:
