Perhaps they should be called shophouses, churning out degrees. Unlike regular higher leaning institutions which are normally located away from city noise, these so-called colleges and universities operate from shophouses on busy streetsmany from the upper floors of warung padang, the ubiquitous West Sumatran restaurants, in narrow alleys and backstreets of public markets. One or two of them actually operate from hotels.
