Historical records indicate two versions of accounts describing how Caucasians arrived in Lamno: they were either cast ashore during a voyage, or they arrived via trade.

AFTER weeks of sailing, the ship was cast ashore in the Kingdom of Negeri Daya. The local ruler, Pahlawan Syah, instructed his soldiers to advance toward the beach. On the ship, the soldiers met with the ship’s crew, who were all Caucasian, sharp-nosed and spoke a foreign language. It was not possible to avoid a war.
