Destroying Coffers

THE Jakarta DKI (Special Province) government pays TransJakarta bus operators based on the traversed kilometer of each bus. The cost was based on ticket revenues and subsidies. The rate for corridors IV-VII for appointed operators is Rp12,885. Operators who won tenders get a rate of Rp9,450. The difference destroys DKI's coffers to the tune of Rp122.1 billion.
