A note containing an important announcement circulated around the head office of Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI), two weeks ago. Dated January 29, it was personally signed by Elprisdat M. Zen, chair of TVRI's board of directors.

The note was brief: "Pending a presidential decree, we continue to function and hold the authority, duties and obligations of the organization's board of directors."
