Emmanuel Macron won big in the French presidential election against far-right Marine Le Pen. Although he will face opposition during his government, his win spurred positive sentiments across Europe and trade-reliant Asia.

T housands of Emmanuel Macron’s supporters gathered outside the Louvre Museum since noon on Sunday two weeks ago, right after voting. Carrying red, white and blue flags, they were optimistic their candidate would win the presidential election.
"Mostly young people (are gathered here)," Herve Le Roy told Tempo. The 41-year-old Parisian is also Macron’s ardent supporter.
