Next month, Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso will have a new task: enforcing the local law on air pollution control. In this law, which was enacted by the Jakarta Regional Representatives Council, is a clause which prohibits smoking anywhere. Violators will be subjected to a Rp 50 million fine or sentenced to six months in jail. Another clause requires owners of buildings to provide a special place for smokers and motorized vehicles to undergo emission
