TAX Director-General Darmin Nasution caused a sensation last week when he announced the Asian Agri Group (AGG) was suspected of committing tax fraud. He was referring to the company owned by Sukanto Tanoto, boss of Raja Garuda Mas (RGM) and Indonesia’s richest man, according to Forbes magazine. Five of AGG’s senior management are already being charged with defrauding the state of taxes worth Rp786.3 billion.
