HISTORY was made in Indonesia's world of advocates two weeks ago on Friday. On that day, the Ethics Committee of the Jakarta chapter of the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi) disbarred well-known lawyer Todung Mulya Lubis permanently. He was charged with a serious conflict of interest violation when he defended the Salim Group in their case against the Sugar Group of Companies at the Kotabumi and Gunung Sugih District Courts in Lampung, Sumatra.
