AFTER growing rapidly in the past five years, Indonesia's trade volume faces a downturn. The global financial crisis affecting export target countries could have negative repercussions on our trade record.
When the subprime mortgage crisis hit the United States at the end of 2007, Indonesia was actually feeling quite optimistic about the future. In previous years, export revenues had broken a record US$100 billion mark.
