THROUGH quite a swift procedure, Harifin A. Tumpa was chosen as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, replacing Bagir Manan, who had recently retired.

During the selection process which took place on December 15 last year, Harifin had the support of 36 out of 43 Supreme Court judges, defeating five other candidates.
