BANK Indonesia’s oversight over financial institutions is once again under question. One glaring incident that set it off was the case of Inong Malinda Dee, a Citibank relationship manager who managed to swindle the bank’s premium clients out of their Citigold billions. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Irzen Octa, a Citibank credit card holder, died in the plush offices of Citibank as he was being interrogated over his late payments.
