I am saddened when a judge abuses his position

THE arrest of judge Syarifuddin Umar by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was yet another slap in the face for the judiciary. Cash amounting to Rp392 million, US$116,128, S$245,000, Thai and Cambodian currencies were confiscated from Syarifuddin’s home in North Jakarta by KPK investigators.

All that money indicated Syarifuddin Umar did not work alone. Very possibly, a colleague, or even some of his superiors may have been involved
