THE Defense Ministry has recently come under sharp public scrutiny, not long after Indonesia officially received a grant of 24 used F16 fighter jets from the United States governmenta move that drew public ire and opposition from the House of Representatives. Those opposing the grant pointed out that the jets were most likely junk, and would require a massive overhaul costing as much as buying brand new ones.
