As of the middle of last week, 377 voting organizers (KPPS) have died and another 1,470 fallen ill. Ilham Saputra, the General Election Commission’s (KPU) commissioner who is also the chair of the commission’s technical division, attributed the incidents to the exceptionally heavier workload KPPS officials compared to the previous elections.
