DRESSED in a yellow batik shirt and a typical South Sulawesi rattan kopiah on his head, Haji Maulwi Saelan received TEMPO at his home, located at Jalan Bendungan Jatiluhur, Jakarta, which is also his office. From there, one can make out the top of the MPR/DPR building in nearby Senayan area, where decisions, regarded by some as having condemned Indonesia's first president, Sukarno, were heatedly debated.
