An article on online media outlet geoenergi.com upset the directors of state oil and gas firm Pertamina. Uploaded on August 11, the title read, Pertamina Directors Suspected of Receiving Rp5 Trillion in Corruption. It claimed corruption had taken place in the gas purchase agreement for the West Madura Offshore Block between Pertamina EP and fuel distributor Media Karya Sentosa.
Three days later, the Public Advocates Network (JAP) published An Open Letter for President SBY on a blog at yudisamara.org. It made the same accusation. At the end of the letter, the JAP asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to investigate the case.
