ILYAS bin Abdullah will never forget the fateful New Year's eve party in 2014. He danced and took some methshort for methamphetamineat a nightclub in Kinabalu. That night he was approached by Yuyun, who asked him to smuggle the drug across the border. "He promised me Rp150 million," he told Tempo, at a correctional facility in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, four weeks ago.

The delivery order landed him in prison. Last January, the police arrested this 32-year-old laborer from Bone, South Sulawesi, at Tunon Taka Port in Nunukan for possession of three kilograms of meth.
