Setya Novanto’s Downfall

Setya Novanto has been taken into custody despite his attempts to evade the law. After his previous pre-trial win, the Corruption Court finally began hearings against him on December 13, 2017. The House speaker is now on trial for allegedly receiving Rp99 billion in bribes from the Rp2.3 trillion in state losses in 2011-2012 electronic identity cards project. Apparently even the most wiley squirrel can slip and fall.
