The Central Jakarta District Court has rejected one of Tomy Winata's lawsuits against TEMPO journalists.

NOT all courts can be considered enemies of the Indonesian press. Last Tuesday, a breath of fresh air came from the Central Jakarta District Court when the presiding judicial panel rejected a defamation lawsuit filed by Artha Graha Group boss Tomy Winata against TEMPO journalist Ahmad Taufik and PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk. The court ruled that Winata's lawsuit was incomplete and insubstantial.
