An historic corner has been turned in the enforcement of copyright law. For the first time in Indonesia, a computer software pirate has been found guilty and sanctioned. The West Jakarta District Court on Monday of last week ordered computer company PT Kusumomegah Jayasakti to pay damages of US$4.438 million, or Rp42.6 billion at an exchange rate of Rp9,600 per US dollar, to the giant American software company Microsoft.
