The Supreme Court issues an edict declaring legally defective the Presidential Decree which puts Ali Mazi on inactive duty. However, an edict cannot be linked to a criminal case.

ALI Mazi was an accomplished lawyer as evidenced by his ability to win the post of Southeast Sulawesi Governor being touted by Golkar.
