Promotion and Derision

NUMEROUS criticisms do not stop promotions. That is what happened to several judges who in November 2007 acquitted Adelin Lis. Head of the judges’ panel who was also chair of the Medan District Court, Arwan Byrin, for example, has been promoted to High Court judge in South Sumatra. While Robinson Tarigan, one of the panel members, has “jumped” to Java, to become chair of the East Jakarta District Court. There were five judges in the panel.
