Tommy Suharto has once again proven his tenacity in the courts, winning two victories this year alone. First he won in the court of appeal in Guernsey, then again at the Central Jakarta District Court. An out-of-court settlement with the Finance Minister proved to have no influence on the court’s ruling. The series of defeats in the government against Tommy is growing ever longer.

ONCE again, Hutomo “Tommy” Mandala Putra has won in a legal battle against the Indonesian government. On Wednesday last week, the Central Jakarta District Court rejected a civil suit filed by the Finance Minister against PT Vista Bella Pratama, PT Manggala Buana Bakti, PT Humpuss, PT Timor Putra Nasional, Hutomo Mandala Putra and Amazonas Finance Ltd as the co-defendants.
