THE “weapons” used by law enforcers against Sulfiana, Minah, and Manisih were articles on theft and embezzlement in the Criminal Code (KUHP). In this law theft is stipulated in five articles and embezzlement in six articles. Article 362 is frequently applied to theft with economic motives, while embezzlement is subjected to articles 372 and 374. “They are obsolete,” said Coordinator the Social Study and Advocacy Institute, Wahyu Wagiman.
