The hope of an independent police force will soon be a reality. Two weeks ago, the government, via Minister of Justice and Human Rights Baharuddin Lopa and National Police chief Gen. S. Bimantoro, sent the police bill to the DPR. When passed into law, it will replace the old Police Law, No.28/1977. The House will debate the bill this week.
