The Constitutional Court has decided there is not enough evidence to prove that Akil Mochtar and Arsyad Sanusi accepted bribes. In Akil’s case, one important witness suddenly changed her tune.

WEARING a black jacket, Arsyad Sanusi sat alongside his fellow judges of the Constitutional Court last Friday. With the exception of Akil Mochtar, the full court of eight judges was assembled on the eighth floor of the Constitutional Court building in Central Jakarta. Also in attendance was Bambang Harymurti, one of the members of a team set up to probe investigations of bribery among the court’s members.
