Failure to Carry Out Court Orders

Prosecutors' inability to carry out legally binding court verdicts, or in kracht van gewijsde, as it is known in Indonesian legal jargon (in the original Dutch language), is not limited to the case of Susno Duadji. The Attorney General's Office often fails to enforce sentences toward corruption convicts. Some resist, others simply disappear. Still others manage to flee after a short period in detention.
